The Jonathan Coulton show last night was wonderful. I'm so glad he could come back to Seattle again so soon. And just in time, he had the physical CDs of Thing a Week Two there for sale. An album so new, it wasn't even at his web site yet when I linked it just then. I got rather drunk before and during the show, and both Susan (on my left) and Beaq (on my right) were having to shussh me because I was being so loud about singing along with all the songs I knew. But I had a great time.

I'm told that The Who were fantastic over at Key Arena that same night. Since Vixy was off seeing The Who, she didn't get to come see Coulton. Which is kinda too bad, because she missed an interesting moment... Background: When Vix and I cover Coulton's song Chiron Beta Prime, she does the robotus-interruptus voice in the third verse. Only she doesn't do it robot-like, she does it all cute/cheerful/creepy telephone-operator-like. So, during the show, Coulton is asking people which songs they want to hear that he didn't do for us on his last visit to Seattle. A few of us requested Chiron Beta Prime. He says, "what usually stops me from doing that one is the robot voice in the third verse..." and solicited a volunteer from the audience to do it. The gentleman who stepped up did a fine job, but I think JC would have loved to have heard Vix's cheerfully creepy take on it.

Okay. Coming up is still OMGWTFOVFF, only a week away. The picture on the left is a screen shot of the current fully-instrumented version of the ever-popular Mal's Song. It is my intention to have this, along with a couple other almost-finished songs from Vixy's upcoming album, on a CD that will be sold to the highest bidder at the Interfilk auction. Do you want to own a piece of this album months before it is released? Come to the auction and bid!
