Vixy & Tony are playing a concert at Norwescon, this coming weekend! There are lots of great folks doing concerts this year, and our particular set will be 5pm, Saturday, April 4th. Betsy and Sunnie will be playing with us, and in fact, they'll also be performing as part of Ménage à Trio right before us at 4pm.

Make sure to see the other great concerts happening at Norwescon from Thursday through Sunday. Have a peek at the Norwescon Schedule for all the details. The concerts will be in the Tower Lounge this year: Formerly known as "Maxi's", this is on the top (14th) floor of the DoubleTree main tower. To reach it, go to the Main Tower elevators and press "R" at the top of the numbers. (Also note that, different from the concerts, drum circles and open filking will be in Evergreen 3/4 this year.)

See you there!

A new video, but not a music video! Instead a video about one hyper-specific aspect of making music, something I have strong opinions about:

If you're a musician and you struggle with reliable and readable charts, have a look and see if this resonates with you?

We will be joining Ménage à Trio and KPH & The Canary Collective. It will be a fun and awesome show! Get your tickets here: Tickets

Please help us spread the word about this one! Tell your friends, and post about it! See you there!

Come join us at Seattle Worldcon 2025! We'll be playing on Friday afternoon, August 15th, preceded by a Sunnie Larsen concert set and followed by the improvisational string trio Ménage à Trio. The concert schedule currently has this block starting at 3:40pm Friday in the Signature Room at the Summit Convention Center, but double-check the convention schedule for possible last-minute revisions. Bonus round: We'll also be the backup band for Mollylele on Thursday at 3:30pm!

Get the Guidebook App to get the latest updates of events at the con. The convention web site has a separate page which lists all the concert times. Many of our close friends will be doing concerts! In particular, check out Alexander James Adams Thursday at 6pm, Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff and Mary Crowell in a concert cluster on Friday at 6pm, preceded by The Faithful Sidekicks and Cathy McManamon!

Update: Tony came down with covid-19 a few days before the convention. It's a mild case, but he's isolating and won't be at the con. In Friday's concert, the part of Tony will be played by understudy Jeff Bohnhoff.

See you there!

We made a quarantine video of The Girl That's Never Been! Our friend Adam Selzer specifically requested this song, he wanted to feature a new music video in the Halloween 2020 episode of his Mysterious Chicago virtual tours.

We were inspired by seeing other quarantine videos made by other bands, such as this excellent cover of Roundabout by The Band Geeks. This is the style where band members each record their parts separately in their home studios, and it gets stitched all together, split-screen style. Fun, and, epidemiologically safe! Here it is:

Happy Halloween!

Congratulations to the Pegasus winners!

This year was a good crop! The 2018 Pegasus winners are here, and I hope everyone is having a great time at OVFF! Sorry we couldn't be there!

We were at home this weekend working on something different... this new video! Of our newest song! It's our first public performance of the song, from Music Under the Trees in August, and of course it's got some fantastic string playing by Betsy and Sunnie. Enjoy!

This is part of our fledgling new official Vixy & Tony YouTube channel! So... erm... like and subscribe, I guess?

Vixy & Tony, and lots of friends, will be playing at Orycon 2018 in Portland!

We'll have the full band of Vixy and Tony and Betsy and Sunnie there, and we will also be the backup band for their guest of honor, our good friend Seanan McGuire, who will be doing a concert of her own. And if that weren't enough, the amazing Mary Crowell, the music guest of honor, will also have a concert, and I expect that some subset of our band will be playing with her as well!

It all happens on Saturday evening, November 10th. The schedule is tentative at this time, and it's a convention, so these things can change on a dime, so check the schedule when you get there. But as of this writing, the schedule was planned to be Betsy solo set at 5pm, Vixy and Tony at 6pm, Seanan McGuire at 7pm, and Mary Crowell at 8pm, all shows in the Timberline room.

See you there!

We'll be preceded by Megathruster at 1pm and Leannan Sidhe at 2pm, so come join us for an afternoon of music!

The entire Norwescon program grid is up, so check out all the stuff you'll want to see! May I recommend the other concerts in Grand Ballroom 3? Our beloved Betsy Tinney has her own concert on Thursday night at 9pm, Alexander James Adams is not to be missed, he plays on Friday at 4pm, and throughout the weekend there will be many other music and music-related panels going on. Dara has put up a snapshot here of all the music goodness happening at Norwescon this year, so check it out.

FenCon was amazing, and we played a bunch of concerts which made us very happy and very tired. Then we turned right around and went off to OVFF which was also amazing, and where, again, we played a bunch of concerts and were very happy and very tired. And then we won a Pegasus Award for We Are Who We Are! And Betsy, Sooj, and Cade won an award for Alligator in the House! Thanks so much, to all the filkers who nominated and voted in this year's awards! There were a lot of great songs and performers in the ballot this year, making choices very hard.

Next up, we're going to give Betsy's new album its sendoff, on Saturday, November 4th. The Kenmore Community Club that we all know and love will be the venue for the release party for Wyverns in the Winery! Also featured will be Vixy & Tony, Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff, and string trio improvisation by Betsy, Sunnie, and Geli. It will be a fantastic evening, and if her last release party is any indication, it'll sell out, so get your tickets now!

Then to finish off the year, we'll be back at Wayward Coffeehouse on Saturday, December 2nd, so come be warm and cozy with us!

Hey everyone!

We are currently rehearsing for our upcoming appearance at FenCon in Dallas, and having a ton of fun. We're planning a great concert with the four of us plus some guests, and also there will be solo concerts by Betsy and Sunnie. There are also other great musicians coming to FenCon, including our good friends Mary Crowell, Alexander James Adams, Leslie Hudson, and Scott Snyder. There is expected to be a significant amount of cross-pollination of musical acts, of course, so if you're at Fencon this year, you might get to see a supergroup or two. Or five. And oh yeah, there's an SF convention happening in there somewhere, too.

We are also all going to be at OVFF this year, where we will be the the backup band for 2017's Guest of Honor, Seanan McGuire!

And then we have new shows to announce coming up:

Saturday, November 4th, we will be playing in Kenmore at the CD release party for Betsy's new album, Wyverns in the Winery! We will also be joined by our wonderful friends Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff!

Saturday, December 2nd, we will be back at Wayward Coffeehouse!

This coming Sunday, we're opening for Outdoor Trek! We'll be there on the evening of July 30th. Music at 6pm, Trek at 7pm. We'll have Sunnie with us! This year, the TOS episode being portrayed Shakespeare-in-the-park style will be "Day of the Dove".

Then in September, all four of us will jet down to be the Music Guests of Honor at FenCon in Dallas!, and there will be some other amazing musical friends in attendance too, hopefully there will be some band blending!
