Wow!

I'm so amazed! Personally, I voted for Heather Dale. But somehow, we won this year's Pegasus for the Best Performer category. Thanks so much to everyone for voting!

The ballot was really great this year, with incredible nominations in every category, making choices difficult. I was very pleased with each of the winners, especially our friend Seanan getting Best Composer, and Uplift finally winning Best Song, after all those times I voted for it. Oh, and we performed Archetype Cafe in the Pegasus concert on behalf of Talis Kimberly, and it won Best Classic Filk Song!

I'm typing this during the Saturday Night "Whose Line" game, and I'm amazed at how inventive and funny our filker friends are at improv. Seanan is just blowing us away with her on-the-fly songwriting, and Sybille is just doing awesome considering it's her first time trying anything like it.

Last night was awesome, too, with the Bohnhoffs springing a great parody of Emerald Green on us ("Soylent Green, is the flavor of my meal"). Then, at the exact moment they finished, Kanef walked into the circle, so we could spring his parody of their song "Manhattan Sleeps" on the Bohnhoffs ("New Jersey sleeps tonight, under a lake of newfallen stone"). This was great because we'd planned to do that very thing back at Consonance in March, but Jeff got kidney stones and couldn't make it to the con. So we were happy to pounce on the chance and finally do it. But that wasn't enough; Kanef was a double-agent, and had been sitting on his parody of Emerald Green waiting for the chance for the Bohnhoffs to spring it on us. His was Oz-themed ("Emerald green, shows it’s sure no place like home"). So basically we had a little three-way parody spring there. It was great!

What a fantastic weekend it's been, and it's only half over!
