Oh, very fine filking!

OVFF has come and gone. Wow, what a weekend! Many thanks to Interfilk and the OVFF concom for having me as their special guest.

My mind is such a blur about the whole fantastic weekend, I'll just mention one thing and then let my pictures and their captions handle the rest...

Vixy won the Pegasus Award for Best Song! Wow! The other nominated songs were all so great, we didn't think hers had a chance. I mean, I knew it was a fantastic song and deserved to win, but the same can be said for all the others. The song, of course, was Girl That's Never Been.

Tomorrow is orientation for Microsoft, and then the following day is my first day of work. *jitter*

I saw that statue in the airport and was baffled as to why Ohio would be represented by a giant golden waterfall. It just sounds so NSFW.

Have a good first day at work!

I love the photos and videos, Tony! I especially like the video of Judi signing "Girl That's Never Been".

Good luck w/ the new job... first days are always kinda freaky!

Thanks again for doing the Reverse Engineering workshop at OVFF... it's always interesting to see how other people approach various tasks, and you made me realize that getting friendly with bar chords is the "missing link" for me. It's easy to walk chords up the keyboard if I'm figuring something out on the piano, but for some reason I'd managed to miss making the connection that bar chords make that same chromatic game of Find The Chord a lot easier on the guitar.

Now I just have to figure out the end of the chorus and the bridge for "John's Garden"...

Sending you good vibes for your first day!!

It seems that every time you're at OVFF, you get a photo of me that I don't know about. This time, it's the one of Vixy and I comparing hands :-)

It was soooo gooood to see you!

*hugs*

Thanks! I have to say, I'm a bit intimidated that my first day of work in over a year will be at the big M.

Thanks, I really like that one, too. It was great to see you.

In fact, walking up the fretboard is easier than the keyboard, because you don't have to change fingering positions as you go.

Did you download the full text of my workshop notes? I did a quick tally on the flight home, and I only got to about half of the points I was hoping to discuss. If I ever do the panel again, I'm gonna need two hours. Argh. :-)

Thanks! It was great to see you, too, and to meet Jim. I think everyone universally likes him.

/me nods approvingly.

*hugs*

It was great to see you again. The photos are really fun! Even though the hallway was dark, it's fun to see a picture of me and Graham playing together!

(Points of clarrification: 1) It's now Becca Leathers and 2) Riverfolk is really Chas and Becca (but Graham and Bonnie do a lot of hanging out with us!)

I did grab the workshop document... I've only had a chance to skim it, but it's sitting on the laptop waiting to be read (and links followed) when I have time to sit and actually focus. There really is a lot of information in there that didn't get covered in the workshop... thanks for making such good notes!

I tried to avoid going there, but yeah...

Oh oh oh! I meant to get from you and I forgot. Who is that singing the song you brought? Because I have simply got to get that CD. That song was amazing.

That's Peter Mayer on his CD "Million Year Mind". I love the entire CD... especially "John's Garden", "Holy Now" and "Magic Beans".

Enjoy! :-)

Thank you thank you! :) *wishlists*
