The Con of Uncle Christo

Consonance was a resounding success. Photos and con report are available here.

As expected, I enjoyed spending time with Puzzlebox, Seanan and her clones, Kristoph and Margaret, The Bohnhoffs, Callie, and everyone else at the con. The guests of honor, Bill and Gretchen Roper, were wonderful, as were the special guests Marty Fabish and Peter Beagle. But for me, the highlight of the convention was meeting and spending time talking with international guest Chris Conway. He surprised us all in many wonderful ways.

Seanan's recording sessions went extremely well. I have to admit, I was skeptical that we'd be able to finish the assigned tasks in the time allotted. But everything happened quickly and efficiently, thanks to Stoph's skill as an engineer and producer. I really enjoyed working with him, and hope I'll get the chance work with him again soon.

It was also a nice surprise to see the people from the Filk Film Project again. I'm glad they decided to come to Consonance. They're neat people, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Next up, FilKONtario in April. Can't wait!

Tony's probably referring to the fact that at least some of us have rather a tendency to swoon for an accent. I name no names. I deny all knowledge. *ahem*

I had a dreamy Irishman with an accent from the South Three Counties so thick you could spread it on your breakfast muffins come to the door and ask me if he could get into my basement.

He was with the construction next door. I referred him to the landlord.

Then he went back to the site and told his workers something along the lines of "I'll be right back, Jimmy's in charge, don't break anything" ... in Polish.

With the same accent.
