The Con of Uncle Christo
Consonance was a resounding success. Photos and con report are available here. As expected, I enjoyed spending time with Puzzlebox, Seanan and her clones, Kristoph and Margaret, The Bohnhoffs, Callie, and everyone else at the con. The guests of honor, Bill and Gretchen Roper, were wonderful, as were the special guests Marty Fabish and Peter Beagle. But for me, the highlight of the convention was meeting and spending time talking with international guest Chris Conway. He surprised us all in many wonderful ways. Seanan's recording sessions went extremely well. I have to admit, I was skeptical that we'd be able to finish the assigned tasks in the time allotted. But everything happened quickly and efficiently, thanks to Stoph's skill as an engineer and producer. I really enjoyed working with him, and hope I'll get the chance work with him again soon. It was also a nice surprise to see the people from the Filk Film Project again. I'm glad they decided to come to Consonance. They're neat people, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with. Next up, FilKONtario in April. Can't wait! |

If you need chords worked out for any of the songs, let me know, I'm pretty good at reverse-engineering songs. I've got a handful of his songs learned already, and I'm starting to catch on to some of his patterns and style, so figuring out future songs will go even faster. I figured out "First of May" just this morning.

I need to figure out what "I Crush Everything" is about. I get the feeling that it's POV of some sort of sea creature, but I can't tell what species. Giant squid perhaps?
Out of the other three, I'll see if I have time to mess with one of them this afternoon.
