OVFF Videos?

Char Mac Kay and I are looking for videos from OVFF.

There were a lot of people with video cameras. We've seen JohnO's one of Bill Sutton, but we're looking for more. Char is looking for general highlights from the con that she can show her husband (who couldn't come this year), and I'm specifically looking for a recording of me and Vixy's performance of Emerald Green (so I can hear what the house mix sounded like and have another listen to Mary Crowell's wonderful piano part).

Does anyone have such videos in digitized form who would be willing to share? Or anyone personally know one of the video-camera-wielding people and can put me in touch with them?

Thanks!

Since I was an idiot and came to the concert with almost dead batteries in both the video camera and the Zoom, I unfortunately don't have Emerald Green. :-( I do have the group of you doing Still Catch the Tide, which is in my stack of things to digitize this weekend. No general con stuff 'cause my shoulder decided that it wanted to be all stabby if I tried to hold the camera, and I'm hopelessly right-handed when it comes to things like that.

I've got Emerald Green on my Zoom H4--will put up an mp3 soon (probably today), having received Vixy's kind permission last night.

I was recording audio, not video. Unfortunately, due to pilot error with a new recorder, I didn't get the "Songs of Home" section; got the rest of the Pegasus concert, and will make it available soonish.

Hmm. I got the whole "Songs of Home" section--I'd be happy to send it to you if you like. My recordings sound a little muffled (shorted on the high frequencies would be my uneducated guess) probably because I propped my H4 under a chair instead of fastening it to a chair back where it could get a good "look" at the sound. I'd be interested to compare something we both got recordings of, if you have the time and interest.

Sounds like a great idea! Hopefully over the next week or so I can boil my recordings down to something that would fit on a DVD -- it's 7.6GB at the moment. I can at least put mp3s and oggs up where you can find them.

I got video of a couple of songs with my camera--it won't be very good video because 1) the camera is specialized for still pictures and video is an afterthought and 2) I am a clumsy, ham-handed operator owing to no experience to speak of.

I'm not sure if Emerald Green was one of the songs, and I'll warn you that if it was, I was concentrating on Judy. But if I have something you want, you're more than welcome to it--I may even be able to attach the (relatively) good audio from my Zoom H4 in place of the pretty poor sound recording the camera makes.

At the moment I have no way to post to YouTube, so I'd have to send you a DVD; would that be okay?

That would be wonderful, thanks! :-)

I got most of the Best Filk Song and Classic Filk Song Contests

I missed the first classic filk (Elf Glade) due to not actually hitting the record button. They are not the best quality because I was using my digital camera's video camera feature, but it's something. Email me at lkw7 at cornell dot edu if you'd like them.
