Forging ahead

Last week, Elizabeth Barrette, someone who found us through Seanan's Strange Messenger Story, said some very nice things about Thirteen. We're so flattered!

Other news: I've put up Thirteen on Last.fm where you can stream the whole thing in high quality.

I also noticed that you can now buy our album in MP3 format at Amazon.com, both with regular money, as well as via some bizarre kind of Pepsi-based currency. Though I certainly don't advocate drinking excessive amounts of corn syrup just to buy our album, I'm certainly amused that we're now participating in a large scale marketing tie-in.

So... Has anyone actually purchased a song via pepsi points?

You know, here's the funny thing about digital distribution... it's amazingly hard to get any sort of up-to-date information about just how much you're selling through a given channel. Itunes, Amazon, whatever, it's all the same, basically I can't see squat in terms of sale details. Every 90 days or so, they report back the number of dollars sold during that period and CDBaby pays Vixy. So even if I knew how much Amazon was selling, the actual numbers via corn-syrup-currency would be entirely hidden from me.

I find this completely ironic. One of the greatest advantages of digital online sales is that kind of stuff *could* be made available to the artist with a minimum of fuss. Why don't they make it available?

CDBaby, for their part, does it right. I can get instant details of every sale made from their web site, either digital or physical.
