We're getting ready to head down for Saturday night open filk here at Orycon.

It was an incredible afternoon. After watching Celia's great show, we started with me playing guitar for ASH productions, then Vixy & Tony playing a set with Sooj, Betsy, and (yay) Alec joining us! It was absolutely amazing. Then it got even more amazing when Sooj and Betsy took the stage and Vixy and I got to play with them. This afternoon was one of the best song sets we've ever done together: everything came off so perfectly that I can't imagine how it could get any better. Thanks so much, everyone who made this happen, especially Sooj, Betsy, Alec, and K. And also, thanks very much to Orycon, Andrew, Jen, and Daniel in particular, for having us all.

Hey... I noticed there were a lot of video cameras in the room. Anyone with footage, we'd very much like to get our hands on it! Drop us a line.

I got there in time for ASH's last three songs. The Coulton was awesome and totally apropos... and actually I think it works *better* if y'all lead off with something light like "Mandelbrot Set" (which *rocks* but is easy to sing) to get Vixy warmed up before launching into the soaring awesome that is "Thirteen"... and, OMG, "Frozen Man" with the cello.... *shiver* and s00j *more shiver* (both for harmonies (wow) and the point-counterpoint of the two guitars.... and Alec was just goin' crazy...

'scuse me for being fan-boy here, but dayum. I have *never* seen y'all rock *that hard*. Worth the price of admission right there. Like I told Sooj: Hammered AWESOME. (I didn't have much of a voice left. :)

(dunno if you heard kindredsgirl sitting next to me hitting the descant on "Thirteen"... :)

Alec was right. I should just go buy my membership for next year right now... "Now you know why we *always* come back to OryCon."

Time for food and a little more fun, and the long ride home. *sigh*

That show was so full of awesomeness! My parents, a friend, and I were all in the front row and were just about enthralled for every minute. Thanks so much for putting on such a great performance. You all are what make Orycon so magical.
