They don't look like rat--rats have long narrow feet. These look more like raccoon. Except for the size, of course.

Pretty confident they are (grey) squirrel, since I do see plenty of those normally romping thru my yard. Good news is they go *around* my garage, not into it!

agreed - rats have longer back feet. i've seen plenty of squirrels still running around this house i'm dog-sitting at, so i bet those are squirrely prints.

Rats typically drag their tails; I don't see any sign of that. :)
