I have the coolest friends.

Conflikt was fantastic, as always. I spent the weekend surrounded by music, friends, and loved ones. The concerts in which I participated, Seanan's and Marian's, went extremely well. Marian sold a ton of CDs and download cards, as I predicted. (Watch this space: Marian and I are lining up dates around Seattle where I'll be playing guitar for her again.) Thank you, Seanan and Marian, for letting me play with you. All the filk circles this year were great, of course, there were some great new songs that had me in stitches. The plethora of parodies to Vixy's songs was just amazing.

Almost as amazing as the convention weekend, in fact more amazing in some ways, was the party we attended on Monday night, at the home of the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] stealthcello and [livejournal.com profile] saladofdoom. Thank you so much, Betsy and Dave, for hosting a most incredble event. It was a night of delicious food, kitten overdosing, impromptu house concerts by us and by them, hilarious storytelling by the other, and crafts by [livejournal.com profile] bansai8. It was also a night of many firsts, including first-time firespinning from Dave and Betsy's son [livejournal.com profile] hammerdancer and our friend [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan. But the thing that had me in tears was watching [livejournal.com profile] s00j spinning fire again for the first time since her surgery. Our Sooj is all better now (physically at least... financially... well, see below). Saying goodbye to her and [livejournal.com profile] omnisti at the end of the night was hard, since we won't see them again for two months. But they will be back, and it's going to be awesome. Keep your eyes peeled for some amazing stuff coming up in the Spring.

In the meantime, we're still helping Sooj pay for her repairs, so please come to our Valentine's Day concert in Everett.

And right now, we've still got a Kanef, an Angelica and a Seanan with us for a little while this week before I send them off back to the Bay area. Today, I'm thinking the Locks...
