Post-Faerieworlds

The last day of Faerieworlds was fantastic. At the end of the day, we all gathered at the campground with our Ash, Erosong, Coppermoon, Cerulia, and Sidhehaven friends. Singing songs around the campfire gains a slightly surreal air when you have a string section instead of just a guitar. As the sparks from the campfire floated into the sky and the nighttime chill closed in around us, drawing us closer to the fire, I was reminded that sometimes the best and most magical moments from a festival are the ones that aren't part of the event itself, rather they're the result of the gathering of people. That's really what these sorts of things are always about: simply getting everyone together so that awesome things can happen.

Despite the terrible heat, it was a magickal event, and my first FW. I'm just sorry I had to leave on Sunday - I'd have loved to be around the campfire with you! Being in that combined encampment with all the beautiful loving folk from the various families was magic in itself. Much love and laughter was shared. I'm glad you got to feel that, too (and glad Rit and Angi got to share at least part of the FW magic!)

Hey, I heard Rit got back from the hospital and was OK, but did they give a diagnosis?

She wasn't there for the fireside concert? Oh...I was hoping she was! She got out of the hospital on Sunday and I passed them on the road as I was leaving. The diagnosis given was a bad case of intestinal flu. She is doing okay, gradually getting her energy back, but taking it slow getting back on solid food.
