I've never been to Seattle, but as a small business owner, I felt I had to chip in what I could. I know what Tucson looks like: we have about 25% vacancy in a lot of places and higher in others; Is Seattle the same way right now? If so, moving may be more fesible than they think.
I just negotiated a lease at less than half the current going rate per sq foot in Tucson just by pointing out that the center was less than 60% tenented and that even that lease rate was better than no money for the unit.
