Seattle Metropolitan Article

Our article just appeared in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine (January 2009 issue, p.32, online version here), and we're very happy about it. We really didn't know what to expect, the magazine didn't give us a hint of what it was going be like, but I think the end result is great. The caricature they drew of us is downright silly, and I love it; I can even tell which photo they used as a reference. The article also mentions the Conflikt convention coming up at the end of this month, which makes us very happy, it's such an important event for us.

For those of you who found us for the first time by googling for us after reading the article, feel free to say "hi" by commenting here (you'll need to make a LiveJournal account, though). And don't forget to hit our music page to hear samples from our album. If you'd like to learn more about Filk music in general, hit the Wikipedia article about Filk.

Oh hey, speaking of Conflikt, I've just gotten confirmation that Marian Call will be doing a concert there on the Saturday night of the convention. The lineup that evening will include Marian Call, our toastmaster Frank Hayes, and our guest of honor Seanan McGuire with Vixy & Tony participating as members of Seanan's all-star backup band.

Quick reminder to everyone: Vixy & Tony are doing a house concert tomorrow, Saturday, January 3rd, at 6:00 pm, at Erosong, with Seanan McGuire and Betsy Tinney. Everyone is invited. Potluck food starts at 6:00 pm, music begins at about 7:00 pm. Please read the details here, and RSVP to the hostess if you're planning to come.

When they put the article online, could you post a link to it so that those of us who are on the east coast and will not have a chance to purchase the magazine? (I don't think I am going to get a chance at a copy unless they don't change the issue till after the first of the month.)

As near as I can tell from their website, they don't put the articles online at all. They put titles of features, but not the actual content..

OMG Tony. My friends and I called borders and they say that have that magazine in stock, so I'm going to buy one!!! :D :D :D
Oh, when I say "i'm going to go buy one", I mean, we put it on reserve and in about 20 minutes we're going to go to Borders and buy it.

We went to Borders and everything, and the magazine they had was the December issue, argh, so we went, Oh Well. Frick.

We'll just have to get it when we can, because I want to see it, ooh!!
