It's Done!

Assuming all the magical CD shipment and digital distribution faeries get all their T's dotted, the release date for our second studio album, We Are Who We Are, will be Friday, November 4th, 2016! Not coincidentally, that also happens to be the first day of OVFF this year, where we are the Guests of Honor. We are planning to hold a small release party while we're there at OVFF (Friday night after the Pegasus concert). We hope that those of you coming to OVFF can make it. We're also doing a local Seattle release concert on December 16th.

When it's released on November 4th, these URLs will be the two main places you can buy it:

Physical copies on CDBaby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/vixytony2
Digital copies on Bandcamp: https://vixyandtony.bandcamp.com/

(Remember, those links either won't work, or won't show you the album, until November 4th.)

Many other digital distribution sites will have it as well, including iTunes and Amazon. CDBaby might run out of physical copies at first, we'll restock them ASAP when they do, so place your order with them and be patient if it gets back-ordered. If you're a filk distributor, please contact us directly to arrange to get some copies for your stock.

Here's the track listing:

01. Burn It Down
02. Missing Part*
03. I Hope You Don't Mind
04. Likho's Lullabye
05. Eight-Legged Blues (Live)
06. Dawson's Christian*
07. The Girl That's Never Been
08. Anna
09. We Are Who We Are
10. Uplift*
11. We Can Be Anything
12. Just a Dream
13. Trouble
14. The River

* Dawson's Christian is written by Duane Elms, and we are using some of Jordin Kare's modified lyrics to it. Uplift is written by Andrew Eigel. Missing Part is written by Seanan McGuire.

And yes, that's a remake of "The Girl That's Never Been" you see there. Full-rock-band production. You'll love it.

As if that's not enough, we also would like to announce that we're going to be the Music Guests of Honor at FenCon 2017, September 22-24, in Dallas!

Other upcoming appearances are: GOHs at OVFF, November 4-6, 2016, Worthington, OH (as was mentioned above), Wayward release concert on December 16th, and Toastband at Conflikt 2017, Jan 27-29, 2017, Seattle, WA.

Are you excited? Because we sure are!

Congratulations! I do know I want some extra copies of the CD (to pick up @ OVFF) to bring to a filk dealer @ another convention.

The River - Is that one yours or a cover? (I know of another song with the same title from a filker on the east coast who has not made Conflikt, but one of his songs did last year.)

Thanks!

The River is one of our original songs. Alas, one cannot always make song titles unique.

You'll most likely need to have the filk dealer from the other convention contact us directly instead of ferrying them yourself. I put a link in the original post just for that purpose. The number of CDs we cart to OVFF is going to be tricky enough without having to bring extra stacks for ferrying to other dealers. Our plan is to bring enough to sell at the con and to stock the dealers who are there at the con.

On the other hand, if it turns out that we still have extras on Sunday night, then we can talk about having you take a stack. (We'll want wholesale payment up front, though).

See you at OVFF!

Completely understandable and how I would want to handle the wholesale CDs I would want anyhow. (If you have leftover on Sunday, I would be interested in some copies for the filk dealer. Or I will arrange for some to be shipped with you. Payment of course will be done at that time.)

1. Eeeeee I'm so excited I'll get to have some of my favorite songs on an album now!
2. How likely is it that copies of this will make it to the midwest by the following weekend? I'm going to be at Windycon, in Chicago, the weekend of the 12th, and that's usually where I get my new filk goodies. Crossing my fingers that [livejournal.com profile] billroper has it in stock ASAP. :D

We are hoping that Bill will be at OVFF and we can stock him up at that time.

This is so exciting. Because I am excited about EVERY single track on there that I recognize, and also excited about every single track I don't recognize. That's a lot of excited!

Congratulations!! The cover looks fantastic. Looking forward to getting a copy, hopefully at the release concert. :-)

Have a great time at OVFF!

The year that we debuted Under the Gripping Beast at OVFF, we were able to split the initial order and arranged to get 100 copies shipped to a Columbus-area fan's home address; she brought them to the con. Since we sold through all of them at the con, there wasn't any take-home packing needed, and the cost-to-ship was under $30. That was many years ago, true, but given the cost of additional bags of checked luggage, it might still be an option worth considering.

Thanks! We already had them drop-ship Mary Bertke a full box, and we'll also be bringing some in our bags. So we're hoping that'll be enough.
